Job Description:

Assistant Database Administrator will facilitate in designing, installation, monitoring and maintenance of database utilities. Provide support and troubleshooting of database operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

1.Database Utilities Maintenance & Upgrades

  • Facilitate in the creation and maintenance of backup/recovery policies and procedures for each database system.
  • Create and maintain database operations handbook for frequently/routinely performed tasks.
  • Query optimization & performance tuning.
  • Performance monitoring using performance monitor, DBCC commands, maintenance plans & third party tools.
  • Writing database procedures, functions and triggers & tune database queries.
  • Monitoring application related jobs and data replication activities.
  • Install, test upgrades and implement patches.

2. Database Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide second level support for day-to-day operations to internal departments.
  • Manage and resolve all concurrent manager issues.
  • Troubleshoot database and eBiz issues and suggest remedial solution.
  • Configure workflow managers as required.

3.Database Implementation

  • Manage the implementation & configuration of various oracle systems Install Oracle EBusiness suite R12, Oracle databases 10G 11G etc.
  • Manage all requirements related to Oracle apps database administration.
  • Coordinate with teams in the implementation of grid computing and RAC.

Education

  • Minimum qualification Bachelors in Information Technology or in Computer Science with emphasis on database systems from an HEC recognized / overseas university.

Skills

  • Adept with T-SQL or PL/SQL (stored procedures, functions, triggers, cursors).
  • Proficient in creation of database objects such as tables, index, etc
  • Strong database backup & recovery concepts.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Query Optimization and performance tuning.
  • Exhibits and upholds KMBL’s values and social performance objectives.
  • SQL, Query tuning and optimization working knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • Must have experience in installation, configuration, upgrading, administrating, monitoring, troubleshooting, cloning, Patching, Backup and restore of Oracle EBS Excellent knowledge & understanding of Oracle Core DBA with multi-node RAC.
  • Exhibits and upholds KMBL’s values and social performance objectives.

Duration and nature of previous experience

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on database administration experience. Prior work experience in a banking environment would be an added advantag
